Congratulations to Mike Murphy for getting his B-License from the United States Parachuting Association. Mike will be a sophomore this year at the University, and treasurer for the club. Congrats Mike!
Hey skydivers! For those of you who have been asking me, of course we’ll be jumping over the summer! Unfortunately I will not be here to organize or see most of you jump. I’ll be leaving this weekend to travel up to Minneapolis to start work. But I wanted to thank you all for a great year, and all the great opportunities to skydive and hang out with all of you. The Falling Illini has been a big part of my life these last 2 years and I wanted to thank you all for the great memories.
Taking over as President of the Falling Illini for the 2008-2009 school year will be Liz Mengyan. Liz is a great skydiver, and you can contact her at president@fallingillini.org to set up jumps during the summer and the rest of the year. Helping her out will be Vice President Laura Thompson and Treasurer Mike Murphy. Also, helping to get everyone together outside the airport will be Brad Topol as Social Chair. Please be as helpful and patient with them as you have been with me.
Just like always if you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane from 14,000 feet, email Liz your name, your number, what day you want to go, the jump you want to do, and if you can drive. Thanks!
Hey everyone! For those of you were wondering, Mike Murphy was the winner of the April Showers contest with 12 jumps from April to the end of the school year. He will be awarded $100 for his accomplishment. We had a bundle of terible weekends but congratulations to all of you who made great efforts these past few months. Keep the pace up over the summer!

Hey everyone. The end if the year is almost upon us. I hope everyone’s finals are going well. If you all need a break, and want to come celebrate we’ll be going to Papa Del’s on Thursday at 9:30pm for pizza. It should be a good time. As always we’ll be jumping this weekend. However this weekend is a little different because Archway will have a CASA. The CASA is a huge plane with a rear ramp door. It’s gonna be really sweet! So if you want to jump send me your name, number, what day you want to go, what jump you’ll be doing, and if you can drive. It will be a great weekend to get out and enjoy the weather and the end of the semester!

We had another weekend with unfortunate weather and airplanes. However, Sunday was beautiful and we got some people up in the air. Congratulations to Kate White, Katie Majewski, Kim Nguyen, Becky Zaworski, and Asma Siddiqi for all coming out and making tandem jumps! Congratulations to Andrea Clark also for completing her first static-line jump! Other members of the club are closing in on getting their license, while others are making crazy amounts of jumps! Hey everyone! Sorry for the extremely late email, we are experiencing some technical difficulties. Archway Skydiving Center, our home dropzone was supposed to have a Twin Otter this weekend. However they do not. So if you want to do a tandem jump please sign up for Sunday as we will be going to Hinckley. If you want to do a static line we will be going to Illinois Skydiving Center on Saturday. Let me know if you want to come out! Thanks for all your patience!

Hey everyone,
Just a reminder that we will be passing out bar crawl shirts today and tomorrow on the Quad from 11am to 2pm. The barcrawl is on Thursday and starts at Firehaus at 9pm. Please come regardless if you got a shirt or have made jumps this year.
Also, I mentioned this at the last meeting but forgot to put it on the website. We will be having an April Showers jump contest. Since the last few weekends have been really crappy and I forgot to put it up, we will be extending the competition. The person who jumps the most in April and the first two weekends in May will win $100!

I just wanted to le tyou know that on Wednesday and Thursday we will be passing out barcrawl shirts from 11am to 2pm on the Quad. So if you ordered one come pick it up. We’ll be out in front of the Union with the WindBlade flying hopefully. See you then!
